Dr Kyeyune George

At MTSIFA we operate a flexible system of teaching and learning which allows us from time to time to invite scholars in various disciplines related to art and design those share their professional experience with our students.  In such a liberal but controlled atmosphere of intellectual exchange, individual interests as well as the cultural diversity each one of us brings to MTSIFA community of researchers.

We also explore the changing market needs and tailor our courses to respond to those demands. This strategy allows us to be in constant touch with the community and local industries particularly those where we send our students for industrial training.

Our outreach programme is very active at MTSIFA. We are working in partnership with all shades of artists and designers.  Our objective here is to mentor them in new design skills and marketing strategies – thereby improving the quality of their products and income.

At the core of MTSIFA mission therefore is the resolve to interrogate local resources in the context of modern development.  We carry out this cognizant of individual needs of the artists /designers and those of their clients.

We have found that these structures have been effective in maintaining our position as the leading art institution in research and service delivery in the region.
